About Amajammer

Meet - Learn - Play - Perform

Amajammer stands for Amateur Jammer. Essentially, anyone who considers themselves an amateur musician and hasn't been paid for a gig.

Amajammer formed in 2018 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

A group of friends met regularly at a Downtown cafe to play acoustic music. We welcomed any amateur musician with a desire to make music. It didn't matter if you were a beginner or very experienced.

Fast forward to April 2020 and the Covid-19 crisis.

Faced with lockdown we were unable to meet in-person.  Zoom started take off as people communicated online and everyone began working (and playing) from home.

We decided to try it out and  hosted our first Friday online jam on June 19th, 2020.

These proved to be super popular. Members volunteered to host jams, which spread the workload as demand began to grow for more regular sessions.

It became obvious that virus or no virus, online jams were here to stay.

We were getting a number of members joining our online jams from the USA, Peru, England, India and New Zealand!

Amajammer is now a learning, community and performance platform for all amateur musicians.

Our goal is get you out of your bedroom or basement and onto the stage, by giving you a platform to learn, grow, share, and perform your songs, with supportive friends.

Welcome to Amajammer! We look forward to meeting you and helping you grow in your musical journey.
